I'm not sure if i should be concerned with this but I've recently put together a new pc which includes a Asus GeForce 9800 GT HybridPower 512MB GDDR3 HDTV/DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail graphics card. I've ran an app called sensor view and with 3 case fans running the cpu is at 28degrees, HD around 35degrees so everything is within its limits but when I run GPU-Z it shows the graphics card around 50 - 55 degrees which seems far too high considering the rest of the setup temps.

Graphics cards run hot, havent owned a 9800GT but for comparision a 4870 by default will idle 70-80c in even the coolest cases, its just the card themselves generate that much heat. Even after increasing the fan speed for the 4870 it will idle at 45-60c (depending on how much you like silence!)

If you want a cool running GPU then get a 260... they drop back to very low clocks in 2D mode - mine idles around 40C with almost no fan noise. (And people wonder why I didn't want to go with the 4870).

Thats the norm for idle, as said above gfx cards do run hot, my old 8800 GT used to idle around 59, my 4850 is idling at 57 which is perfectly fine.
