Graphics card update help please..

Hi all,

Ive got a 2900XT at the moment and im thinking of upgrading. Ive been looking at either the 8800GT or the 3870XT So...

Im looking at these card as they are both around £150 (well the 3870 is cheaper)which is my budget really at the moment So what would you recommend? Is it worth paying the little extra for the 8800GT?

Is it worth the upgrade really tbh. I no its always worth upgrading but seriously?

Thinking of upgrading while I can still get a resonable amount of money for my 2900XT

i upgraded from 2900xt to 8800gts g92 to 2x3870 crossfire.

gt and gts are faster then single 3870 but in x fire they beat even ultra and they not eat a lot of energy.

if you have to lains of x16 i would go with two 3870 just if you have one x16 and other x4 or x8 go with gt

Mainly gaming, stuck into TF2 at the moment but will play most of the latest games

EDIT: Also stream HD content to my 32" TV

i see you have p35 as it only has one 1 x16 go for 8800gt some retailers give you one with better cooler now

Doing the same thing tbh m8 wants a new pc which i am making for him and he is willing to take my 2900 xt for £90 as i am not charging him for the build and i am suck as to what i should do . i have two pc's one with a GTS and my boys with my old 2900 in as i take that on hol's ( family hol home) £20 more for the 3870 xt or £30-£40 for the GT.So i am watching this thread close
