Hey Guys,
So My computer hasn't been upgraded in a long time and for a long time I've never had to look at game requirements until now.
Fallout 4 is laggy on my PC which is not good considering I plan out spending 100s of hours on it.
I've been so long out of the game of upgrades and all I don't know whats good anymore, Last time I looked at components the HD6950 I have was pretty good.

My PC Current Spec:

  • Itnel Core i5 3570k @ 3.4GHz
  • Gigabyte Z77X-D4H Motherboard
  • 8GB Ram
  • AMD HD6950 2GB DDR5 Graphics
  • Corsair TX750M 750W '80 Plus Bronze' PSU

I was going to upgrade my Graphics card to:

Ideally I'd like to spend as little as possible but get about 4GB of Graphics, £200 is around my budget limit. (although if it's slightly over for the mutts nuts of a card then id obviously go over)

Would you not consider an Nvidia? I used to be a Radeon fan but imo Nvidia offer best bang for buck now.
For £50 more you could buy a GTX 970 or wait a little while and save and get a 980. Having said that Nvidia are releasing a new architecture early next year, Pascal I think its called. If you could wait till then you will find the price of the GTX980 reduced.

Above all I would strongly suggest doing some research before splashing the cash.

I would completely consider Nvidia. I've always been Radeon so I've stuck with them.

I'll do some research into this new architecture and see if its best to hold off. Ideal i'd like the upgrade soon as I'm playing Fallout 4 now.

I know what you mean I had the same dilemma with Witcher 3 I had a GTX 680 and although it was playable it wasn't the best experience.
The new architecture for Nvidia is supposed to be a huge jump in terms of graphics power. Like 4x the current power of the Maxwell architecture.
