Hi i am a newbie on here so go easy on me :)
I am looking to upgrade my graphics card on my HP Pavillion H8 1250 desktop running win 10 with a Intel I7 2600 @3.4 ghz with 14 gb ddr3 ram and a Nvidea Geforce GT 530 graphics card ,my display is a LG FLATRON E2351 23" screen with 5ms responce time so i have a budget 0f £350 and a case that does not have a great deal of space so may have to rig up a harness for the graphics card fo money saving or push to a new larger case worse case scenario so advice most welcome thanks in advance .

What power supply are you using? Need to make sure it will provide a stable power solution so there aren't any nasty surprises later down the line

If its still the standard 460w power supply I would look at upgrading that if you are going to drop in new expensive hardware.

what sort of games would you be looking to play? a 6gb 1060 could possibly sort you out and leave you cash left over for a power supply and case?

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £323.93
(includes shipping: £0.00)

That case is a waste of 50 quid.

And the PSU ? I'm unsure what you are getting at...

This GTX1060 6GB is a short card:

The PSU is made by Delta so is probably not too bad,but is probably getting a tad old now although they could be configured with a GTX460 too using the same PSU it seems.

The PSU is 150MMX140MMX86MM in size.

This CX-M modular PSU will be fine:

It uses a modern DC-DC design and has a decent warranty. This is an older design and not modular but is a solid PSU:

Both will be more than enough - my Xeon E3-1230 V2/Core i7 3770 based system with a GTX660 or GTX960 is lucky to see 200W at the wall. Even when trying out my mates RX480 8GB it was well under 300W.

I use a Corsair SF450 SFX PSU(450W) currently.

What model/ brand is the PSU?
Sadly no brand name off HP website just spec after trawling the internet so maybe there own brand
Internal 460W (100V-240V)

Form Factor: internal ATX
Total wattage: 460W
Nominal input voltage range:
100-127V/3A (50-60Hz)
200-240V/2A (50-60Hz)
Dimensions: 150mm x 140mm x 86mm (5.9 x 5.5 x 3.4 inches)

I recently upgraded my Dell XPS 8300 with a 6GB 1060, it's been great and has transformed my machine to a competent gaming PC again. It's got a 450W Dell OEM PSU, absolutely no issues with it. It was running a 6870 before though so I wasn't expecting there to be.

Its a Delta 460W,most likely a DPS 460CB which was used in the models which also had a GTX460. Its getting a bit old so hence that is why I recommended a newer PSU.

Regarding the case, this is what it looks like inside:

Due to the way the cabling is arranged in the case,a shorter card would be better.

You case is bigger than mine and im running a GTX 1080

What's the obsession with a new case and using the same crappy psu?

At least spend your money in a manor that has a point to it :p
