Right guys, will cut straight to the point here.

Got a Q6700 @ 3.33ghz and I need to buy a graphics card that will keep me going for the next year or two at 1680*1050 (Samsung 2233rz).

I've currently narrowed it down to GTX470 and GTX570. However would a GTX570 bottleneck me?

I've considered the 5870 but there's a lot of problems getting 120hz to work properly on the ATI cards or so I've heard.

What would you recommend? Budget is variable right now but £200-£250 as a ballmark.

Thanks

even at that clock? (3.3ghz)

i hv a similer rig will be watching closely

It's not going to be as fast as a i7 6 core but the higher the Rez the smaller the impact CPU has on games.
That's of course with games that are less optimised for quads / multi thread.

I understand some games will but many people are saying at 1680*1050 I won't see that much of a bottleneck?

I'm leaning towards GTX470/570 at the moment to be honest, but just can't decide which one will suffice for the years to come and whether the 570GTX is worth the extra ~£70-£80
