I want to downgrade my PSU and want to upgrade my graphics card to a gtx 660ti.

Heres my specs

ASRock Z77 Extreme 6, Intel Z77, S 1155, DDR3, SATA III - 6Gb/s, PCIe 3.0 (x16), D-Sub/DP/DVI-D/HDMI, ATX £144.92
XFX P1-1000-BLUK Pro Series Black Edition 1000W Modular Power Supply (PSU) £196.92
Intel Core i5 3570K,1155, Ivy Bridge, Quad Core, 3.4GHz, 5 GT/s DMI, 650MHz GPU, 6MB Smart Cache, 34x Ratio, 77W, Retail £179.00
8GB (2x4GB) Corsair DDR3 Vengeance Jet Black, PC3-12800 (1600), Non-ECC, CAS 9-9-9-24, XMP, 1.50V £37.62
Crucial RealSSD M4 256GB - Solid State Drive - CT256M4SSD2 £157.50
1GB Asus GTX 560Ti Direct CU II TOP, 40nm, 4200MHz GDDR5, GPU 900MHz, Shader 1800MHz, 384 Cores, mHDMI £185.47
Pioneer BDR-207DBK Blu-ray Writer 5.25" SATA £61.54
Coolermaster Storm Trooper SGC-5000-KKN1 Gaming Case £119.98
Total: £1,082.95

So is it possible to downgrade my PSU leaving behind enough money to get a gtx 660ti whilst it being able to power it.

Thanks.

With regards to the psu, 1000w is massive overkill for that rig. A good 650w would power that easily.

Quite agree with the others on the 660ti. 670 if sticking with Nvidia or the 7950 would be better choices.

Looking to rebuild my system, and the graphics card is the one thats stumped me the most - it's been a few years since i've build from scratch (Bought an Alienware then a predator out of lazieness)

So the 670 is better value than the 660TI, I was looking at the 680, should i go for that, or the 670?

Depends on the model. Most non reference 680s aren't good value for the performance. Reference 670s don't offer that much bang for buck either and tend to run hot. Cards like the gigabyte 670 windforce offer the best value for performance. If youve got your heart set on an nvidea 600 series I'd go with a non reference 670. The AMD offers at the minute offer the best bang for buck I'd consider a 7950 if I were you

+1 7950

I did the humming over the 670 too.
But I decided on the Sapphire 7950 oc.
It arrives in the morning...I'm soooo excited!!

I can vouch for Corsair dead quiet. ( though mine is the AX and not HX.
