I currently have a radeon HD 5850. That card seems a bit dated now (mid range?) so do you recommend an upgrade? I do have a core I5 4.4, so I reacon that on certain games, my graphics card is bottlenecking me?
What do you think?
titans? Two Titans would do the job nicely.
Don't really have a budget.

Well I play a wide range of games, shooters, third person shooters and plan to play the new Tomb Raider, which I understand you will need a powerful rig for the highest graphics settings. Apparantly the textures will use 16x the amount of data than consoles. I guess that made me think about getting an upgrade. I don't think my current graphics card would cut it. As for the resolution I play at 1900 x 1200 atm. I'll maybe get a bigger monitor in the future. To tell you the truth I care a lot about visuals, and for example I ran Hitman Absolution on ultra and my framerate dropped. I'm not really interested in 3D, but it's a nice added extra. As for frame rate I'll be happy if it's over 30 fps, preferably 40-50 at all times. As for multiple monitors, nope I'm not interested. Would you recommend crossfire? How much improvement would upgrading from the 5850 be?You'll do best to specify a rough idea, else you'll get outrageous suggestions such as a pair of Titans!
Firstly - what games do you currently play? What resolution do you play at? Do you *need* to run at full details, or are you happy turning some stuff down a little? What would you prefer in terms of framerate? Are you interested in 3D? Are you interested in playing games stretched across multiple monitors?
and what about 5850? Is that classed as a low range card now? How often should you upgrade your graphics card? I am not purely a PC gamer, as I have consoles too, but I like my games to look the best they can be. Although recently, I have found that I had to sacrifice performance to get max settings. Sleeping dogs for example, I put it on ultra and my fps was about 10 ish. Although I did have the high resolution pack installed. I had to put it on high to get more reasonable fps, though it was like 20-30 fps.7950 is a very good mid-high range card. It's at a reasonable enough price, but with good performance, and good ability to overclock.
You can get more expensive cards, but you don't get the performance increase relative to the price increase.
The only thing is that it doesn't have boost. Do you think I need it?Nice choice. Silent at idle, not voltage locked should you wish to overclock it and speedy customer service should the worst happen (uk rma).
