Hi,

I'm a YouTuber looking to upgrade my GPU so I can get the best quality for videos since I've noticed FPS drops lately. Any recommendations would be amazing! Thank you.

Current Specs:
Motherboard - Gigabyte A320M-S2H V2-CF
CPU - AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Eight-Core Processor / 32GB Ram
GPU - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Super 6GB

Budget - £500

well, that basically limits you to nvidia gpus

just a few observations and you can pick your recommendation...
with your budget...you can get:
A) spending your whole budget on a 3060ti
B) split it between a better cpu and a better gpu - ie getting a ryzen 5600 and a 3060 (non-ti)

the 3060ti is 25% faster than the 3060
the 2700x is a decent 8 core cpu, but its single-thread performance is weaker...nvidia gpus require strong single thread performance to work their best
the 2700x will likely be the bottleneck

your current mobo will support the ryzen 5600 with a simple bios flash

the ryzen 5600 is easier on the very basic VRMs of your A320 motherboard as it uses less power than the 2700x
the 5600 also has a much stronger single core performance compared to the 2700x, so you may find that you get smoother and more consistent framerates compared to your 2700x
(i assume you have a power supply that can handle either of those cards)

your call :)

sorry, i did forget a third option
but only if you have the extra cash lying around and can afford to wait to recoup the cash to bring the overall upgrade cost back to £500-ish
the third option (C) would be to get a 5600 AND a 3060ti...then sell your 2700x to recoup the extra initial outlay

ofc you can do the same thing and sell the 2700x for option (B) as well

goes without saying that this option (C) will yield the best performance increase

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £577.97 (includes delivery: £7.99)

Id go used for both, a 5700X/5800X for £150 or less and a 3060ti for just over 300 quid.

Remember to update the motherboard bios to the latest one before changing the CPU over.

Are you saying that you want higher quality video, or that you want higher FPS in games which gives you higher quality video? :o

I find OBS (my recording software) pixelates a lot when my game is moving quicker! If it wasn't for recording then I'd be fine since my games run smoothly, it's just the issue of recording that I want to try to fix :)

Thank you so much for all the advice! I'm gonna look into which I think would be best for me from the list so it's really appreciated :) (ps I'm going to sell my current GPU no matter what since I won't need it once getting my new one & I'm probably going to go with second hand since it seems pointless spending so much more for me aha :))
