Hello,

After some advice on a graphics card upgrade for my dads PC, he does game but not brand new up to date ones.

He's been looking and found a GT740 2GB but from quickly looking around it seems this is a poor performer for the money? Would be better going for a GTX750? Looking around the £70 ish mark.

Motherboard is a P8H61-MX, currently using OB graphics.

Thanks,
Mark

I know he plays some of the older 'sold out' ranges and GPL, I'm not sure about others to be honest.

AMD is an option, he had just looked and found the GT740 I think he prefers Nvidia from the old days.

I've been having a look would the GTX750 be better value for money? Or is there an AMD option which would be better?

750 and 750Ti are excellent cards, if a little older now.

Below that sort of level is the territory of perpetual rebrands of 5 year old cards.

I would get one of the Evga's. 3 year transferable warranty. If you need a low powered half length card obviously get the first one otherwise the second has been reduced and is faster and hopefully quieter as the two fans should cool more efficiently than one. What powersupply has the pc got?

Thanks :) To be honest I don't know on the power supply, you've got me thinking though and I've tried looking at pics of both, do they both require a 6/8 pin power connector?

From looking at the pictures and checking the specs the first card doesn't require a 6/8 pin pcie power cable but the second one does.

there is the 360 OC for 89.......which doesn't look like it needs any pcie cables.

I'd say either that or 750ti......they are pretty much even in speed; can't seem to find 360X

I'd look around as pretty much 360X will be fastest out of them.....and still no pin I think.......and sameish price
