I would suggest something like a 4670. Although the card has 2 DVI outputs, it should come with an adaptor

my ati 3650 has a vga adapter out but it makes the text on me screen blurry.
think its to do with refresh rates. i cant get my refresh rate above 60hz at my HDTV's native res of 1360x768.

also played with cleartype on and off.

have they stopped producing graphics cards with VGA out? (pci express)

I'm not sure if it will be any better than your current card, but the Overclockers value Geforce 8400 has a vga and a dvi connector on it. My Dad has one in his computer.

Could that may be the reason why? As it is a HDTV and 60hz is the maximum refresh rate that it supports, like pretty much most common TVs do?

Also its a possiblity that the VGA cable is of poor quality too? Unless you have already tried another or even tried on another HDTV set?

Sorry didnt relise you said what card you had.

You could try a dvi-hdmi cable, this is how i connect my 3450 to my hdtv and is crystal clear.

My card has HDMI out but when connected to my tv's HDMI input i can only get 1280x720 (via hdmi cable).
If i used a DVI to hdmi adapter would i get my native TV res of 1366x768 ?

My tv is a samsung R74 26"

Would not have thought so, both dvi and hdmi are digital so maybe not.
If you have the adaptor, try it as it might be the hdmi skt on the card is faulty

What drivers are you using?
I found 8.10 to be the best for my card.
