Hi first post and would like some advice. I have read a few forum posts and was thinking about buying either the Gigabyte Windforce HD 7950 or the Gigabyte GTX660ti overclocked 3gb version.

I understand that the Ti is overpriced but would like advice on those 2 cards please.

thanks

Good day. :)

The 7950 is overall faster than the 660ti (I'm assuming that's what you meant since there isn't a 3gb 650ti, the memory would be wasted on that anyway).

The main reasons I wouldn't buy a 660ti over a 7950 is because the 660ti poorly priced (probably the worst out of all the current 7000 / 600 series), and also because it only has a 192 bit memory interface, meaning performance can nose dive when AA is applied.

The 7950, on the other hand, has the architecture to take advantage of its 3gb of memory, and has a 384 bit memory interface as well as being better priced, relatively speaking.

The 7950's direct competitor is the 670, while the 660ti is more suited to giving the 7870 competition.
