Okay, heres the thing, I built my computer a while ago and have only just got round to thinking of getting a new graphics card only problem is I dont have a clue which to buy. The one I have atm makes the screen jump which is very annoying! and I cant play any games on it what so ever because it just shows it frame by frame.
Ideally I didn't want to spend a whole lot as I don't play games that often.

Any advice would be much appriciated (which i can't spell but still)

Thanks :)

welcome to the forums :)

Which GFX have u currently got (AGP / PCI-E)? Which motherboard/RAM/CPU do you have? Which games do you play? What resolution do you play at?

Then we will be able to help you a little more :)

800 x 600 is quite a low res these days, so you should be able to pick something quite cheaply to give a big boost. Depending on what you already have (Rivatuner will tell you this, or you could take a photo and post it here) and your budget, the card you want is in this list:-

AGP Cards:-

9800 Pro(S/H), 6600 GT(S/H), 7600 GS (£78), 6800 GS(S/H), 6800 GT(S/H), X800 XT(S/H)…, 7600 GT (£118)…, x1950 Pro (£141)

My brother is running a similar setup to you, the good old Athlon XP eh? I've just given him an x1600pro which has given him a big boost, he's able to run Oblivion and Vegas very well and these cards are quite cheap now (under 70 quid?). Hope you find what you need :)

Thanks for your help everyone much appriciated!!! :D
Finally be able to play my games without seeing all the frame
