I am looking at Graphics cards and cannot decide which would be best buy between the following:-

Gainward GeForce GTX 460 GLH 1024mb
Gainward GeForce GTX 460 GS 2048MB

They are pretty much the same price.

Hello,

Thank you for the help, I do not game much but I am going to build a new pc which I want to last for a while. Its main purpose will be to run XBMC via HDMI on a 40" 1920x1080 TV and act as a pc on 2 screens running monitors at 1920x1080 via DVI. I was thinking the better card I will get the easier it will do this.

Will better cards not add better detail etc on the video playback?

I am currently using a Geforce 6800 which struggles with video at 1920x1080 on one screen but cards do look allot better now.

I have the following spec for the machine:-

So it will be best to look at the 240/260 ranges and they will be sufficient?

Running a media center and dual monitors is not exactly taxing to even a budget GPU out now, this would even do the job. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-141-OK&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=168 and just for the record, ATI have better image quality with movie playback.

Would they be ok to output on multiple monitors and TV? so maybe start looking at the ATI cards as it will primary be for video viewing.

Well you got 1 x DVI/ 1xVGA for your monitors and an HDMI connector for your TV.

Yeah I'm with Nvidia now but my previous card an ATI 5870 had better image quality when watching HD content and standard def movies.

Would it be best to go with an ATI 5870 or a higher model, was there much difference?

Hmm wait, are you going to run 2 monitors with a TV? Making a total of 3 screens?

Make sure you buy a DP->VGA adapter with the 5450 Raven linked.

You also might need a DVI->HDMI adapter as well for the TV, but I'm not sure if the card is supplied with this or not.
