Hey all, i was looking at this card.

Sapphire ATI Radeon 1GB HD5770

First question, is there a card thats the same or better for the same or cheaper price? (i wanna be able to play crysis on full, atm i can play on medium - high).

Secondly, idk if that card does, but if a card needs 2 x 6pin power cables and my PSU only came with one, can i get another (its modular).

Thank you.

You need to remove the link, as its to a competitor which isn't allowed on here.

What resolution are you playing at ?

What are the rest of your pc specs ?

Most current cards come with a molex to 6pin adaptor, so you could use that if the card needed 2x6pin connectors.

You need to remove that link mate, no competitors.

Link to ocuk to tell us which card.

Yes its a nice card, would help if we knew the set up it was going to be a part of.

You can get molex converters but if you need one you really should be looking at a better psu.

Not going to comment on price as dont want to fuel a fire.

EDIT; great minds think alike moody- seems yours thinks a tad faster tho!

5770 only requires 1 6pin connector. You wont get a card that will max out crysis for that price, but the 5770 is a good card for that price.

There was a card on here that could max crysis for about £110, sadly i cant find it (the crysis part was in the reviews)

What card would you say was the cheapest card that maxed out crysis ?

if thats all you can afford, then i would go with the 5770. I used to have one, and its a solid card.

Well technically any card can max out crysis, but its all down to what you consider a playable framerate. If you can manage with 30fps, then anything higher than a GTX 460 will probably be sufficient. 60 fps however, you're going to want the best cards out today, like GTX 580, and Radeon 6970

Interesting that one as my 5850 with an i7 cant quite do it but it does look good though even after 3 years

yeah its a decent enough gaming system, you should see a nice boost in performance, with a good card.

Ah good to hear, if im honest i have trouble overclocking it hehe. but i have it running smooth stock 3.4ghz @ 1.3v... I shall have to overclock it when i can :/. need a tutor lol.

Hi there, may I ask what the make and model number of your PSU is?

If your budget and PSU can support it - then this card is one heck of a price considering the performance.

However, if your budget won't stretch over £100 and your PSU can't handle something as power hungry as a 5850 - then the HD 5770 is the best choice imho.

Thats to pre-order, the price will go up and i dont have the money -right now- :/.

Yea, that's just the pre-order price. But I would still keep an eye on it for when you are ready to spend the money - as the price won't go up that much. Even at £140 that's still a lot of card for your money.

Is this card any good? the reviews are excellent.

It seems faster than that 5830 you posted.

IMHO, the 5770 is the best new card you can get for under £100.

The 5830 does perform a fair bit better than the 5770 - but it uses a fair bit more power (it has two 6 pin power connectors for one thing). Whether this is an issue really depends on what your PSU is.

If your PSU can take it then I would still not go for it tbh. The GTX 460 is only £12 more and performs a fair bit better again. Also, almost every week there is a deal with a GTX 460 at ~£114, so snap it up then.
