hello folks, which graphics card would be wiser to choose?
Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5850 Extreme 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
OR Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 6790 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
and are they both compatible with the BeQuiet purepower 550W power supply?

The 5850 is much faster)

both fine for your PSU.

5850 if you want performance.

6790 if you want low power.

Looking at this review the HD 5850 is definitely the faster card in a range of games.

As for the PSU (assuming you mean the 530W version) then either graphics card will run fine off it.
