Hey guys I'm building my first PC and was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers. I was thinking of getting an AMD FX 8350 CPU. What graphics card would you guys recommend getting and what motherboard would be ideal for these components? I know this forum has a lot of very knowledgable people on. I don't know much about specs and benchmarks.

Any feedback would be most appreciated,

Cheers.

General Hardware would be your place to go for this.

Personally though I'd recommend getting an Intel i5 CPU over anything AMD (which one though I don't know as I'm sitting here with my trust 2500k!). CPU wise they're better and no games really use 8 cores right now.

Intel all the way depending on budget.

Post in general hardware giving your budget and what you need the pc for, what games etc and resolution you will be gaming at :)

I'm running an 8350, moderately overclocked to 4.5gig on stock voltage. Plenty more to be had but waiting till I've finished building / tidying the case.

Plenty of intel fan boys on here - personally I like AMD and always have hence why I stuck with them. Yes the intel stuff will outperform on benchs but in realworld application I've seen very little noticeable difference.

Motherboard is a Sabretooth 990FX R2.0 and GPU is a GTX970 black edition. Some people have had problem with coil whine on the 970 but I haven't had any issues with it at all.
