Graphics cards advice

Hi all,

I'm wondering if I can get a little advice on GFX Cards!

My spec is:

  • Lenovo H430
  • Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2120 CPU @ 3.30GHz, 3300 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)
  • 8.00 GB
  • AMD Radeon HD 5450 1.00 GB

I've just recently got into PC gaming and am hoping to buy a new GFX card as playing some games is completely jerky on my PC. I have around £100 to play with for something better than I have now!

I've heard that the Sapphire Radeon R7 265 Dual-X 2048MB is pretty good value and will get me a half decent upgrade for my money but I am completely confused as there are soooo many choices!

Cheers
Dan

You may need a new power supply as well if your going to upgrade your graphics card, check what you already have in your machine.

Is it this:

I cant make out the PSU but looks like a generic one. It probably will have enough juice for something small but i suppose that's all your budget will allow for anyway. Can you check what PCIe connectors it has available?

@mickyflinn: I currently have a Pentium 4 E-650x which is an aftermarket PSU I put in but if it needs to be upgraded then that's no problem

@Avenged7Fold: When you say to check what PCIe connectors it has available, is this a physical check or something that GPU-Z can provide?

Pentium 4 E-650x does not sound correct for a psu can you confirm thats correct otherwise you will need to add another £40 to your budget

Cool, thanks a lot for the help.

Much easier than me sitting here for hours on end trying to decent between the hundreds of variations! lol
