Lack of hardware knowledge, dual running graphics cards.

Care to elaborate? Not sure what you are asking, but if I had to hazard a guess, I would say a system that runs more than one graphics card which would be SLI or CrossFire.
There is also dual GPU cards which are a single graphics card with 2 GPU's on it like my Radeon 295x2.
