Good Mornin' Folkes,
i've just found out my fiance wants to give me mother her old PC, so my mother can play Games like World of Warcraft, which is going to be the most powerful game she will ever play in her life,

the mainboard is a Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4 as you see, thats quite old.
Currently the GPU is a 7300SE/7200GS Nvidia Forceware 94.24 drivers installed, and currently gets 24~31FPS on World of warcraft just above 800*600 settings, below 1280x1024 settings as she only gets 17FPS at that setting(WoTLK installed as im on a trial atm, as my current internet is my Nokia 82 as a Modem)

Originaly the Computer had a 7600GS or a 7800GS and played World of Warcraft at 50~60FPS with a lot of addons running, that kinda went though, when my local hardware vender blew my card up, "attempting" to see what was wrong with my newer PC (which i had already told him the damm problem for >.>)

Would that mainboard hold new'er cards? i know the card would bottleneck, as the CPU is only a "DualCore AMD Athlon 64 X2, 2000 MHz (10 x 200) 3800+"

When i started building computers years ago, i was told by the person who Tought me "Dont put to powerful Graphics cards in old Mainboards, as your blow the card up" and its kinda stuck with me, never knowing it if is try or now lol...

Ofcourse i dont expect to put say a 260GTX in it. maybe something like a 9600GT or 9500GT? from OCuk website. Although from everest scans. my GPU atm is on a PCI-E 1.0 running at x16, whereas them cards run at PCI-E 2.0.

anyhelp would be greatful.
Have a nice day ^^
