Hi all,

I originally had this thread in software but I thought it might get more replies here.

Basically im running vista 32bit business edition and getting blue screens regularly, (around ever 10 - 15 mins).

Running DXdiag shows my 6800Ultra as having 504mb of memory and running dx10 both of these are obviously very very wrong.

I have tried the microsoft drivers that come with vista, Nvidia 97.46 and Nvidia 100.51, all of these simply lead to random blue screens.

I have also tried 100.54 and 100.59 but both of these fail to install, around half way through the setup the screen goes black, the monitor displays "no input" and the system never comes back, obviously leaving the pc pretty screwed up.

Does anyone have any ideas as I am at my wits end here.

Thanks

My 8800GTS shows up as having 1340MB of ram in DXdiag :D
It definately sounds like a driver issue to me, I get instability whilst running games occasionally and it doesnt appear to be related to anything in particular. Just have to wait for it all to be ironed out.

Loads of threads about the Vista drivers fron NV being carp. Only had a couple of years to sort them too. ATI's aren't fantastic either though!
I guess you may find that trying MS's 'standard' driver may cause less hassles

The 100.54 drivers are for 8800 cards and although I did not get BSOD's they are very flaky at best and very BETA.

Thanks guys, looks like we might just have to play the waiting game for some decent drivers eh.

I might look in to that at the weekend, but my copy of vista activated itself automatically, so I think I might have problems there.

It's not actually a problem - as long as you can uninstall the old drivers and keep the darn thing stable while you install the new ones in XP compatibility mode it works very well.

My BF2142 frame rates have improved by doing this. Supports SLI as well, which the 100.54 drivers don't
