Graphics dilemma

I've ordered a Dell XPS L502x with an i5-2540M, 6GB of RAM and a 2GB GT 540M.

Now for a little extra, I can get the XPS z, which looks a lot nicer IMO, with the i7-2620M, however the graphics card is the 525M.

What main difference between the two cards will I notice? It would be used for MW2, MW3, BF3 and whatever other games come out. I don't want max settings, just something decent.

I'm swaying toward the z, but the slower graphics card and lack of BD is putting me off (though I don't know if the BD would get much use?).

1080p panels by the way.

Too late, gone with the newer z. The 525M can be clocked to 540M speeds according to a lot of forums. The nicer looking case and the i7 have won me over.

540M:

MW2 (High settings): 42 FPS
COD Black Ops (High settings): 44 FPS
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (High settings): 30 FPS

525M:

MW2 (High settings): 37 FPS
COD Black Ops (High settings): 44 FPS
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (High settings): 27 FPS

Not really a huge amount in it imo.

I'd hazard a guess that high res is 1366x768 but notebook check doesnt appear to state the res depends on what what laptop it is.

Stick with the GT540 mate as this will prove better as the newer games come out esp where it has the 2GB mem over the 1GB on the 525.

Although the i7 is better on paper and in the benchmarks, you won't notice the difference in real world performance.
