Graphics driver nightmare

I currently have an e6400 duo core processor with win 7 32bit.. I have an asus 1gb 5850 gfx card.. Currently running 11.5 drivers.. Each time I update drivers higher the computer crashes after a couple of mins..

Any way to easily id what is wrong?? Doing my head in I wanna try bf3 beta but need 11.7 minimum

Have you had an Nvidia card in your system before this card - if you did, did you run CCleaner (or its equivalent) to get rid of the drivers?

Also, when you install the latest ATi drivers are you saving certain profiles - if you are i would use the delete all option so there are no traces of previous settings which may be causing the problem.

If that doesn;t work - i would consider using CCleaner to get rid of all vestiges of 11.5 and hopefully that will allow a clean insall.

Driver issue aside, I doubt you will get playable frame rate in BF3 with the E6400. In fact, your 5850 would bottlenecked in most other games already, let alone the CPU intensive BF3.
