This seems to be the closest in performance the two GPU manufacturers have been for years.

I'm wondering if we might start seeing a lot more effort put into optimising drivers in an attempt to have the fastest card? Or do you think we will see more new cards as they try and top each other?

NVIDIA will match any feature AMD offer just like they did last gen. They matched freesync, bettered AMD RIS by allowing filter sharpen to apply to more games.
AMD will improve performance wise with drivers overtime, no doubt.

Cyberpunk will be a good bar to measure each respective brand come release time for the next 12-24 months.

It's bloody exciting, im looking forward to future improvements in the next 6 months. SAM from nvidia to work with intel chips is something to look forward to as well.

Exactly. We can all expect a 3080ti to be expedited too now to claim the performance crown.

Then we have which team will developer's end up prioritising in development... money seems to be on AMD..

Indeed, AMD seem to have upped their game significantly this year. Aslong as competition is ripe and it brings us new innovation quickly and swiftly im happy.

No consumer loses out this time round! Everyone wins!
