Had a new(ish) graphics card for an IBM Netvista desktop pc 2.4ghz celery with 768mb memory, on board intel graphics. It has an AGP slot and yes the gfx card is agp.
Followed normal procedure to the letter but couldn't get any signal from the new card (geforce 6200 passively cooled 256mb) via the standard vga port or the dvi using it's dvi to vga converter.
Did everything again from scratch, disabled the on board, shut down pc, install new card, but no beeps and no signal from the new card still so I'm guessing it's requiring an agp 2.0 slot and this mobo doesn't appear to have that or the card was doa.
Now the problem is the pc will get to just before the logon page with the windows logo up fine then it flashes once and hte logon doesn't appear, just a blank screen but the monitor is still behaving like it's got a signal from the on board gfx but I can't get to the desktop (at least not a visible one).
So I've tried repeatedly to get it to boot into safe modes various modes and it hangs everytime.
I've tried to access the system restore point I created BEFORE I began all this but it defaults to an ibm restore point rather than the windows restore point I created. Problem with that is the ibm restore point is 6mths old.
Any suggestions?
