I'm looking for a graphics card for my HTPC and need some help in choosing one.

I currently have a silent passively cooled 4 series which does the job for HTPC but want to replace it with one that can handle gaming.

I understand I will probably have to go for one with a fan but I do not want to have noise when watching films. So as silent as possible.

Budget - £200 but the less the better.
Want to play: Fifa, Pro Evo soccer, racing games etc.

Thanks

If you have spinning disks in your HTPC I can assure you that a GPU with a good cooler will be barely heard - especially when you game. Any card that is not power hungry will do the job (had 6950's with dual fan coolers that made less noise that the 5400 disk!)

HTPC's are small... I wouldn't even think this card would fit, as it is over 27cm's long and takes up just over 2 slots.

all depends on the case you are quite correct.

if its a slim case, then your limited to http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-309-SP&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1985

if you have a full sized slot with limited space then gregs suggestions.

if you have enough space and want to game at 1080 with all the eye candy in the latest games for a 2 years or so and want it to be (i would say silent) then the only card to consider is the http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-278-AS&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=2294

Thanks for the replies.

I have a Antec Fusion Remote case - I believe I will be able to fit a full height card.

I have tried a 6950 but it was too long.

I want to stay under £200 as this is casual gaming - my main PC has a 7970 which is used as the gaming machine. The HTPC is connected to a 42" plasma.

Nice case (considering similar for my own bedroom build). I would look to the 7850's/660's. They should be fine and look for what others recommend for quietness.

I run a 7850 mostly undervolted with the fans down at 20%. It's very quiet. Obv when gaming it's a bit louder (Still quiet), but who cares about that really?
