My friends PC (nearly 6 years old) has a graphics glitch. On board graphics on an Asus P8Z68-V motherboard. The system runs Windows 10 fully up to date.
The glitch appears as a square not unlike a qcode about 50x50 pixels slightly NE of centre and moves about a small amount, sometimes it is thinner and appears west of centre. It is not the monitor.
Does this sound like the graphics chipset failing?
I would add that the CPU heat monitor often reports heat in excess of 80C and the graphics drivers will be as they were over 5 years ago unless Windows updates them.

Graphics are integrated into the CPU for Core series CPUs, so these are on-chip rather than motherboard integrated.

It's worth a clean and repaste of the heatsink to address those heat issues. Windows update should handle native graphics chipset drivers but it can't hurt to check.

Start from there and see what happens!

Thank you very much for the reply LuckyBenski.
The fan was a bit rattly so I will replace it and repaste as you suggest.
