Hi guys / gals

I have run into a problem... Last night I was cleaning out my pc for dust etc and I unplugged my power cable so was safe to open up the case.

I took out my Nvidia GeForce 9800gt from the psi socket and clean it up and vacuumed the dust out.

Afterwards I connected my graphics card back in and also removed 2x512mb ram and left the 2x 1gb ones in.

I turned my pc on and pc started up very strange, it turned on and then turns itself off, this happened 2/3 times and then boots up normal....but screen will not work from my gfx card....I had to plu in my monitor into the motherboards inbuilt VGA.

On device manager my gfx doesn't show? I checked bios settings and it's selected as PCI. I even reformatted my pc but nothing worked.
I assumed I had broke the gfx when I took it out, but I cleared that theory as I tried my other old gfx card and it wouldn't even detect that hardware.

So I'm stuck guys and I'm without a pc with working gfx card, I'm assuming it must be motherboard or I've missed something. But all I did was take it out to clean.

I have a Dell Vostro 410
2gb ram
Intel quad core dual (can't remember what type)
Nvidia geForce 9800gt

Many thanks

I would be checking all connections to make sure they have not loosened off/come away. Make sure the 4 pin connector is in the top left corner (if your mobo requires this). Hoovers generate static electricity, so possibly you may have touched something which in turn has shorted something out on your mobo.

Yea all connections are fine, the vacuum was made of plastic so it's insulated. Doesnt really answer why the pc turns itself off 3 times before finally booting up.
