Graphics is working fine till i start a game then it will go into an infinit loop so i have to reboot.

rebooting will put me into safe mode vertical banding like scratch marks and jumbled text till windows start, device manager shows yellow exclamation as it has not started.

It is 8800 GTX oc BFG take it out clean switch ports and it might start normal again till i try a game any game ET world of conflict does not matter.

Tried updating driver reseating switch ports any one got any ideas ?

What? is this a new build? new card? or nothings changed? If latter has it just started happening all of a sudden or has it been doing it for a while? Is it everytime or random?
you say youve tried updating drivers but you should try this
-uninstall the drivers
-reboot into safe mode and run driversweeper
-reboot into normal mode and download latest driver
-reboot again
See if that helps

Built year and a half ago, some times it would happen but always went back to normal this time seems to be stuck.

Always thought it was a driver so updated java flash etc etc but now i am thinking that was only papering over the crack.

will try the sweeper .

tried sweeper 2 and there are 5 files it will not clean mainly prefetch or something going to go ahead and try installing driver again.

I am pretty sure that it is the driver thats doing the nasty.

Tried it 4 times now and sweeper 2 acts like it has cleaned so i reboot.

I get this when i reboot in a DOS box i click y assuming it is yes to delete files.
C:\NVIDIA\*, Are you sure (Y/N)?

but the 5 files will not be deleted since i am no longer in safe mode seems tobe a sweeper 2 problem.

Update just tried driver cleaner pro and it deleted 3 of the files and also some from the service cabs 0_o

But i am now down to 2 files that driver pro cant see and sweeper does but cant clean.

Comp worked fine till i rebooted now iot is just randomly crashing graphics card will not start code 10 only error msg.

Tried ccleaner to clean registry but no luck.

Anyone else had this problem ? looks like i need to try a format.

id say faulty card tbh, could be caused by over heating, dodgy power, previous overheating/spikes, or might just be actually faulty
