graphics problem :(

i have recently installed windows because of many problems with software and hardware not working etc, one of the problems was that there seemed to be a problem with the graphics not just in games but in general use, when a window is dragged across the screen it laggs a lot, i have now installed a clean copy of xp and the other problems are fixed but this one remains.

i have tried a different graphics card and this did not fix the problem and i can not think of what else may be causing this, i would appreciate any feedback that anyone could give as to what the problem may be

Have you tried changing your screen refresh rate?

Have you installed the most recent drivers for your chipset and graphics card?

i fixed it, it was set up in safe mode in ATI catalist at minimum settings

This is probably a nooby question but why does ati catalyst have a safe mode? :confused:

I didn't even know that ATI Catalyst had a safe mode but I would guess that it is to allow you to go back to GPU default speed if you overclocked it too much :confused:
