My mate has brought me this issue..

When I boot my PC with this graphics card, the screen displays a lot of corruption/artifacts in the form of lines and squares. The graphics card is in very good condition and doesn't seem to get hot at all.

2 x ATI Radeon XFX HD 4870 X2 2GB Graphics card running in crossfire mode..

Can anybody shed some light on this please or is it a terminal fault that cannot be fixed..

thanks

Kai

thing is though. Ive put these on my test bench and ran a GPU integrity and mapping test and, im getting some wierd results from it. Really not normal from both of them. Personally, I thing hes had crappy cooling and turned it down to shut it up a little and in the process, killed these lovely looking cards...

he has. also there are VRAM errors all accross both boards. Maybe cooking them could be the case as this tends to work? Any opinions on this?

Thats why im really reluctant to do it. Card Cooking is a bit neadertal and akin to taking a lump hammer to a panel dent to me.

to me, what I think is that the system has got way to hot, but not enough to cause a shut down or memory dump, the VRAM has got dry joints all over an its faulted....
