graphics problems

i'm having two graphics problems. hopefully they are being caused by MSI afterburner BETA 10 having problems, because ive tried doing a clean reinstall of the graphics drivers and its made no change.

the first problem is that, in low graphics usage areas, such as the menu for stalker: shadow of chernobyl, i am getting very poor framerates, sometimes as low as 7FPS. in game it will be absolutely fine giving me the normal 30-45FPS but the menus and loading screens have an incredibly low FPS compared to normal.

the second problem is MSI's on screen display. apparently my games are using 4194304 MB VRAM. as much as i would love to have a card with over 4TB VRAM, i somehow think its a problem with MSI afterburner

hopefully going back to the prefectly stable BETA 9 will solve things for me, but if it doesnt could anyone suggest any fixes for this

*edit*
insalling the older beta of MSI afterburner has solved the massive indicated memory usage, but its now saying my version of MSI afterburner will expire on january 15th. does this mean that what was beta 9 will become the standard MSI afterburner, because the beta was the only way to get video and audio recording, and beta 10 just didnt work for me, or am i going to have to reinstall it every week or so?

The Beta's do not become standard unfortunately! I wish they would. Only the Beta's have the capability of recording sound as well as video when I record my gameplay for youtube videos. So I am stuck using the beta's.

As we all know, Beta's are usually buggy and this is the first I have heard of MSI screwing up a AB beta. Looks like I am not going to download it then. Back to fraps it is xD

It looks like you have solved the problem anyways! Good luck with the installing every week. Try FRAPS!

thanks for the info, and yes, everything is working fine now.
i refuse to go back to fraps because i dont see why i should pay for something that is worse than MSI afterburner, which is free. the free version of fraps just doesnt cut it because you can only record in 30 second chunks, con only take screenshots in .bmp format, and you can only monitor your FPS, not your memory usage, etc, which i find incredibly helpful for getting a games settings just right

if anyone else has the setup file for MSI afterburner beta 9 and isnt getting the 'expires january' message then if you could upload it somewhere i would be incredibly grateful.
