MY father is 74Years young and is just getting into using his laptop. He loves drawing and art and i thought i could maybe get him a Graphics Tablet with a copy of Paint shop pro for christmas. I've never used my self, so are they easy to use? Spesh for a person who has VERY basic knowledge of computers.

very easy, yes. so long as you/he spend a bit of time setting up the buttons the way he wants them to behave and of course make sure it's on the correct positioning mode (so the cursor jumps when you move the stylus to another area of the tablet and doesn't just carry on from where it was before).

would highly recommend not being cheap and get him a proper A4 size one at least. those A5 jobs are just too small to be of any real use.

also you'll have to make sure he knows not to press too hard. it aint charcoal :)

i have used one of the wacom bamboo ones before, it takes a bit of getting used to but good fun once you get going, might see if it's still in the cupboard now!
