i currently have a radeon x600 pci express 256Mb on a D915PGNL motherboard. how can i choose best/fastest card for my system? what are my limitations?

From what I have read about your mobo, it supports PCI-E 1.0 x16. So you can pretty much bang any graphics card you want in. There is a slight limitation in bandwidth compared to PCI-E 2.0, but most people will tell you its virtually unnoticeable; especially at lower resolutions.

Just make sure you have the power supply to back up any card you buy. If you are using a PSU from a pre-built PC, you will most likely need to upgrade as they are designed to run the stock components at as low a wattage as possible.

Give us an idea of your CPU, resolution and games you are looking to play; easier to help you out.
