I currenlty have a GTX280 at 1680 x 1050 and runs ok with a few slow downs, this is with settings on full, 8 x aa and 4 x af.

I have been thinking about selling my GTX280 and picking up a HD5850 but then I started to think about getting a pair of HD5770's, reviews show them matching if not beating the HD5850.

I have a cross fire motherboard and can pick up the HD5770's for a little over £200.00.

The HD5850's are getting harder to find and the only ones left are £250 or more, also I can't seem to find any benchmarks for them with BC2, how do they scale in cross fire?

I read somewhere on this forum that a guy with 5770's in xfire was not getting very good performance in BFBC2.
I can definetly say with confidence that a single 5850 performs very well in this game.
I play at 1680x1050 with 2xAA and everything else maxed out and have never noticed any slow-down, very smoooooooth!!

I use 5770's in xfire to play and there fine, play at 1900 * 1200 with all settings at max apart from aa and af which are both set at x4.

Just done a very quick test with fraps getting a low of 46 high of 78.

Hope that helps :)

You would barely notice any difference graphic wise between 4xAA and 8xAA during gaming, but if you drop from 8xAA down to 4xAA, your frame rate should be much higher and the game would run much smoother even on your GTX280...

I have a GTX 280 (overclocked myself tho admittedly) and it plays BC2 in 1920 x 1080 no probs with 8 x aa and 16 x af.

I've got almost exactly the same spec as the OP, and play BF2 at 1920x1200, max settings (HBAO off though) with 16xCSAA, 8AF - min FPS is 30 :)

Something's wrong if you're not getting playable framerates at 1680, you should be.

re:

Almost all my members on ATI cards get into new rounds very slow. Apparently its been an issue for a fair while, I have heard them complain since the start of world at war but it still remains an issue:eek:
Are any of you guys getting into rounds slower than Nvidia users?
Cheers
