Graphics upgrade from a 4870?

I've ordered one of the 4GHz Core i7 bundles (got confirmation on shipping early today) but now I'm looking at my graphics setup. Currently I have a 4870 512MB. Basically, I'm not sure what the best approach is. DX11 isn't going to be too far away so I don't want to splash out on a GTX295 or anything (I feel it's far too pricey anyway) but I could pick-up a second 4870 until newer cards are out. I assume there isn't any point picking up a 4870 1GB as my current card will hold it back, meaning a 4890 would also be a waste. I also have an 8800GT which I'll be using for a PhysX card, though I assume it's no use in any other capacity.

It's worth bearing in mind I currently have a 22" monitor (1680x1050) but am considering the Dell Ultrasharp 2709W 27" (1900x1200) further down the road, in which case I'm going to need some decent power behind it. It's definitely not certain, though. And I'd like to be able to breeze games like STALKER: Call Of Pripyat, DiRT2 and older games like GTA4 and STALKER: Clear Sky (which are pretty poor trying to max with my [email protected]/6GB RAM/4870).

I'm open to all suggestions. I just want to check I'm not missing anything, though realistically I don't want to be spending more than £200 with DX11 coming soon.

Cool. Well, I'll be putting my new system through its paces and make any decisions then. It's not like I had poor performance before. Obviously if I can hold off until DX11 then I should get much better value.
