graphics upgrade

hi looking to do a full system upgrade sept/oct

thinking of upping the gfx card in the interim
currently have a 7800GT used on a dell 2405 so not as nippy as once was
running single core opty @3ghz

would it be worth going for a 8800gts 640, how much of a bottle neck would the cpu prove to be
any known issues with an asus a8n sli deluxe mobo
case is antec lanboy any size issues

any advice welcome

If its only gona last about 3-4 months id say spending over £200 on a a 640mb GTS for that long will be a total waste, may as well just grab something like an x1950 XT for now, as September time ATI's 2950's should be here, and October/Novemberish Nvidia's G92's.
