Hi guys,

I'm thinking about upgrading my old trusty GTX 260 and upgrade to something a bit better.

My choices:

* 6850
* GTX 460
* 5850

I'm leaning towards the 5850 (second hand) going off benchmarks anyway.

I was just wondering though, would it be worth going for the newer (slightly slower) 6850? Do you think future driver upgrades and games that support the new tessellation thing would make the 6850 a wiser choice?

Cheers

The 5850 is the better card of the three and if you can pick up a second hand one for decent cash , Go for it

Save a little more and get this card. Great buy at this price.:D

It's quite tempting. Do you think I would be better of going with the 470 then?

Reading a few reviews & looking at benchmarks it doesn't actually seem like there is much in it and in cases, the 5850 actually wins.

Taken from techspot "The GeForce GTX 470 vs. Radeon HD 5850 comparison can be summed up much more easily. The Radeon HD 5850 was without a doubt the superior performer in our testing, washing away the GeForce GTX 470 in all but two games. Even when the GeForce GTX 470 hit the lead when playing Metro 2033 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat it was by a small 1-2 fps margin on average. "

Choices, choices!
