Hey guys,

I'm looking to upgrade my PC's gaming capabilities.

My current spec is:

CPU - Intel i3 2100 @ 3.1
MB - Asus P8H61-m
PSU - OcZ ZS 650W
GPU - Radeon HD 6450

As far as my very limited experience in PC components goes I'm guessing my GPU is the weak link in this chain?

I was looking at potentially upgrading to:

Does this seem like a good card and will it run with my machine?

Thanks in advance.

What resolution do you game at? That I3 will be a bit of a bottleneck sorry to say (even for the 7850) but it shouldn't stop you getting a 7850. Loook more to the 2GB version though.

The 7850 would be a good match for your system, however try and push the extra for the 2GB version, as the 7850 has enough grunt to push settings high enough to break the 1Gb limit.

The 2100 is a decent CPU, game dependent it will bottleneck, not by much though.

I'm not looking to play extreme high end games, give me BF3 on medium settings with decent FPS and I'd be a happy man tbh.

I'm sorry I'm not all that savvy with the tech side of computers, does a 2gb graphics card use 2gb of ram to run?

The 7850 is probs the cheapest card that will play the games and last you?

1GB is okish but not really ideal for the future, 2Gb Vram is on the card it has nothing to do with the Ram inside the PC.

Yea cheers,

My biggest contraint is Definetly budget, I was looking at around £100-140 max since I'm only a poor student. heh.
