Hi, I habe a Rampage V extreme (the rog one) and on startup I'm getting error code 62 on the mobo, and no monitor output. The small red led for Graphics card remains lighted, whereas the others flash on and off.

I tried to boot the PC without the card in and got the code for no GC present. The CPU dont integrated graphis)

Can anyone else suggest anything else I should try before wrighting the card off and getting another. Its a NVIDIA GTX 980 by the way.

Edit I perhaps ought to say I detected some light oil, maybe lubricating oul, on the underside of the card and dripped onto the PSU. This probably wouldne have caused a short but maybe a fan bearing has gone?

Plus also, I have tried the card an the next PCI slot down and get the same error.

The only thing i can suggest is try the card in another Pc , but it does indeed seem like the card is a gonner.
 
If there's a CEX nearby just buy a £10 card to test it out, or get one off Ebay. How old is the GTX980? Unless you bought 2nd hand most manufacturers would have 2/3/5 year warranty so you might not be out of pocket.
 
Bought a cheapy card out of maplins and installed it and its working fine. So must have been the card.
The supplier has already agreed to take the gtx980 back for possible refund so my uber machine will have to slum it till after xmas to see if any of these 1080ti's are worth their salt.

Trying to order a new one off OC but the site seems to be cream crackered atm. I keep being taken to the alternate delivery address page.
 
Have a new cooler on the way, old one stripped out and with 2 nice spare fans to salvage.
Its what to do about the board now. Maybe it will work once dried out. I dont want to be without that box for 2 months+. The **** card i put in was struggling with the windows desktop.

I may end up buying a titan x at this rate if im not careful.
