GRAW2 and constant crashes

All over the world...
Just wanted to check to see if anyone else is having this problem??. My problem seems to be that every 15 mins the damn game causes my 360 to crash and its highly annoying to keep turning my 360 on and off especially as im half way through a level and then it locks up and i have to re-start my level again:(.

Now i just spoke to the place i bought it from and they mentioned that theres a patch that rectifies this problem....funnily enough i have my doubts as i havent seen in any of the GRAW2 threads anyone mention the game causing their 360 to keep locking up. So is there a patch out or available soon that fixes this problem or could it be that i have a faulty disc??.

I had a look at the disc itself and theres no major scratches or scratches at all on the disc...well not that i can see.

So can anyone let me know if this game is causing the same problems on their 360 as it is on mine??.

BTW no other game i have causes my 360 to crash as much as GRAW2 does :/...so dont think its my 360 on its way out or anything...havent got any red lights of doom yet.

Cheers lads

It did crash on mine before i took the 360 apart for the first time to clean it out!

Try taking out your Ethernet on the back so you don't log into live and see if that helps!

R6 Vegas used to crash on me all the time and once i unplugged my Ethernet to stop connecting to live it didn't crash anymore!

Hope this helps!

Josh

Nope, I have had a couple of crashes throughout ownership but only ah andful and not on a particular game. If I did have them as you describe, Id be getting it replaced.

Cheers guys for responding. No point in taking out the ethernet cable as it needs to be logged into live so that i can continue my saved games...well as far as i know it needs to be as the other day my net was down and i couldnt continue any of my saved games...which was kinda confusing.

Oh well ill see if this so called patch turns up...actually think ill have a wander through the ubisoft forums and see if they have any info. But looks like ill have to send the game back for a replacement.

You find this a lot with the 360. Everytime a new game comes out you will find a thread of a load of people complaining of lock ups while the majority are fine. I had it with GOW so swapped 360's and it was fine. So I sent the 360 back, got another and havent had a lock up since.

It varies box to box. Some people I know cant play R6 regardless of disc without lock ups. I've tried their disc and they have tried mine, the fault doesnt move with the disc.

Go into any game thread on xbox.com and search for lock ups and their will be hundreds of examples.

I really am suprised I havent had problems with mine, its normally just my luck that everything I buy has problems but my 360 has been pretty much solid since the day I first plugged it in.

Personally if it were me, Id be contacting MS and maybe bedning the truth a little, saying it happens on more than one game as that will indicate to them its a problem with an individual title.

Hell, Ive been close to moaning to them about problems I dont have justto try and get a newer model, but have a nasty feeling if I trade my working one in Ill get in a loop of duff consoles.

Hmm dunno its just really strange that GRAW2 causes my xbox to crash every few mins. The stupid thing about it is that my 360 is out of warranty now:( so dont know if complaining to them will solve anything tbh.

Might try the hdd cache clearing trick but so far from what i have read, it doesnt really solve the problem. Not happy that this game is causing me so many headaches tbh...i might send it back to where i got it from to see if it is the disc thats at fault. If not then ill just have to ditch the game completely and give it a miss...its a good game but not that good tbh.

Seen a few people's 360's have been trashed by GRAW2 on other forums i use so could be yours on the way out.

Highly unlikely tbh, like i said this is the only game that causes my 360 to crash all the time. I could agree with you if other games were causing my 360 to crash but they arent and i have about 7 games in total.

Oh well going to give M$ a call and see what they have to say about it..like hell im paying them to fix it...rather buy a new one tbh.

If you were unscrupulous you'd buy another copy in the high street, try it out and return it within 7 days to the store that still lets you do that for a full refund.
If the new copy works fine then you know it is the disc. If it doesn't then you have a worse issue.
If you were totally immoral and the disc is the problem you'd even return the duff disc to the nice high street store.

Hehe well i might just give that a try Virii;):p. I thought that certain high st place stopped giving refunds on games that have already been opened??. Just dont want to waste £40 odd quid..only to find that they wont take it back for a refund.

Two places used to give you time to evaluate console games. Both are high street specialists.
One gave 10 days no quibble refund. The other gave and still does give 7 days.
I would double check with them though that you'll get a refund within 7 days and not vouchers. It always used to be 7 days no quibble refund and the one in Hemel has let me have a week to evaluate games for my Daughters DS etc.

Well went in after work to the usual high st one and asked them about refunding the game...the guy told me as long as the seal isnt broken then they will take it back within 28 days with the receipt. So not sure if hes talking ******** or what, seemed to be the manager of the place.

Anyways picked up another copy for £40 so will give it a go later on, am hoping that this one doesnt crash my 360 and if it doesnt then all is good. If not then ill be taking it back tommorrow to demand a refund..worse comes to worse ill just trade it in against another wireless controller..i need another one....ive been through a total of 4 wireless pads so far lol:p
