GRAW2 Thread - Arrange games here too

Doubt I will be playing this again if I'm honest, pre-occupied with other single player games atm and Halo 3 is out in 12 days so thats my next 2-3 years tied up right there :p

I may have to get Halo 3 ... even though I wasn't keen on the earlier ones (but only played single player) ... but just to get a good dose of online fun, as no doubt all the old GRAW people will have it!

What's the cheapest it can be ordered for? With quidco cashback too for extra discount - been using it nearly a year! Not asking for competitors... but just the price, so I can then hunt it down myself!

Cheapest? No idea, might be region free so you could try Importing if it is, but since its not out yet we have no idea if it will be.
Members Market might have a few copies up a few days after since a lot of people bang on about how they hate it and how much it sucks etc yet they still buy it :p
Also how about trading in some old games you dont play anymore? (If you've got any. :p I've only seen you play GRAW 1&2 and Gears of War :))

IF those 3 options are no good you might have to wait till release since the only deals are pre-orders and are for full retail (cheapest version is £40 @ RRP)

Also I wouldnt recommend it unless you're not keen on spending weeks upon weeks of dying before getting decent ammounts of kills. Its the kind of game where you've got to learn the maps, weapon placements and each weapons strengths and weaknesses etc. Not trying to put you off playing since it would be great to play with you again on a regular basis, just warning you before hand.

When I first got into Halo 2 three years ago I died all the time for months upon months, but I didnt care since its a good laugh and there will be literally loads of us playing it for atleast the next 12 months (and the rest). The single player portion of the game is a bit hot and cold for some people either you love it or hate it, but the multi-player is where it shines and Halo 3 is going to be the best installment yet.

Well, it just saves wasting money if I don't like it in the end and sell it ;) Plus people on the forums here are usually good at sniffing out a bargain!

Even though I did buy Gears of War twice .... the first copy was sold within 8 hours, the second copy was bought when I was desperate to play something online again .. but the terrible controls, horrendous bugs, poor gameplay made it completely unenjoyable and that one was sold off too!

If the game is enjoyable then i'll stick with it, but playability is the key! GRAW oozed that, as did Quake 3 Fortress mod which I played for a year and a half in a Clan many years ago. For me, that's what counts - having a good playable game, with folk you get to know for a laugh (like with GRAW)

Single player I have no interest in ... guess it will be the same old usual linear twaddle (watching my language there!) that I detest!

What sort of multiplayer game modes are there - free for all and team based I guess?

Free for all, Team slayer, CTF, Assault (carry a bomb to the base and arm it), oddball (carry a ball around - each team either defends the ball carrier or attacks and tries to get it back, the person holding the ball gets points for the team [or himself if its free for all]) and king of the hill are the main ones (but there are plenty of others) the possibilities are endless really. There are literally dozens of different combinations and throw in a few vehicles and the gameplay changes dramatically.
There is even a new feature where you can change everything on the map on the fly - spawn points, weapon spawn points and loads of other stuff (still dont know much else about it myself yet) best described as similar to Garrys Mod for Half-life 2, but you can actually play your game types such as CTF etc on it as well while being able to edit stuff. The customization options are far, far more indepth then GRAW so you can create any game type you can think of really.

Halo is very playable, probably one of the easiest games to pick up and play just dont be expecting to jump straight in and get loads of kills against some of us whom have been playing for years (I know you're not but loads of people make that mistake and eventually get sick of dying and stop playing, all Im saying is give it a chance).

Also Forgot to mention it has 4 player co-op over Xbox Live, yes I know you hate the single player but if its with 3 mates it can be a great laugh and should show Gears of War how its meant to be done :)
I can play Halo either with friends or on my own in matchmaking which is why I love it so much, no waiting around for a game if your friends arent online :) and Halo 3 is taking elements from both Halo 1 and Halo 2 to make it the best one yet.

All I can say is give it a week or two and make up your own mind. The best way to describe Halo is its not really innovative and it takes things from all the best shooters around and brings them together in one very well polished package.

Yeah, i'd expect to be killed repeatedly by you no matter what the game!

But if Krono has it, then there's some easy killing to be had :P

Just to add its vastly different from GRAW (and Gears of War, which was dire), but the brightside is there will always be someone to play with, and this time they have fixed all the glitches that were present in Halo 2 so thats the problems you have with both GRAW and GoW solved for so far.

I would say come join us on Halo 2 multi-player sometime, but with Halo 2 and 3 being vastly different judging from the Halo 3 Beta and the problem of Halo 3 being released in less then a fortnight, it wouldnt be worth going out and buying it. I've only played with you in GRAW and briefly in GoW so its hard for me to know what you look for in an FPS, but if you're getting it to play with OCUK people (which Im assuming you are) I say definately get it because you wont find a better game that will hold their attention for so long and I guarantee it will be a good laugh.

ROFLPMSLOL

I can give you GRAW you practised you learnt well over the weeks and finally got better than me. Halo is a completely different game and only Alrik is allowed to make such remarks. (Kreeeee also makes them but gets beaten like a ginger stepson every time)

At least you aren't blaming wall hacks! ;)

Ceeg, Just noticed your for sale thread. Did you get rid of Graw 2. Alrik do you still have it?

Might get rid if you guys no longer have it?

Yeah, got rid of GRAW2, still got GRAW until that sells....

No point keeping games that nobody plays these days, as the single player side has no appeal.

Not sure if I will even bother with Halo3, i'm not enjoying Halo2 the few evenings i've tried it - it doesn't feel right, movement doesn't feel right ... can't hit/kill anything at all in it .... zero kills last night (well, one team member with a grenade, and a kill with the sword thingy to take my score back to 0 from -1! I know people say there is a big learning curve in it before you can kill ... but something isn't quite right with it...

Really not enjoying gaming at all these days, there's nothing on the horizon I want for the 360, my xbox live expires in 3 weeks ... so beginning to think about flogging it!

Theres quite a lot I'm interested in SP but not a great deal MP. I think I will sell on a few games then. Other than Sega rally and a football game.

Its not really worth selling the 360 though is it? They dont really fetch that much anymore and something might come along you fancy.

COD 4 might be up your street and sure to have lots of players.

Really is sod all on the horizon, and I try most of the demos that appear on live - quite a few don't get past 30 seconds, and most don't make it past the minute mark of gameplay.

I don't have the patience for the rubbish that gets churned out these days, every company just makes the same old **** as each other - all following the same receipe book!
