GRAWF or PGR3

Hi guys

I'll be getting a 360 in the next few days but at the moment money is tight so i can only get one game with it, since i haven't used a 360 myself i need some advice off someone who has had both of these games or at leasr played them both, which of the 2 would you choose and why

2 different types of games mate, they cant be compared

if you want racing game then go for pgr3

if you want tactical soldier type game then go for GRAW.

best thing you can do is read reviews on ign.com or gamerankings.com

now if you had said PGR3 or Burnout, then i would say burnout purely for the much funness that can be had on live!
 
Well i got my xbox 360 the other day and i got those 2 games as part of the package and i play G.R.A.W. more as thats why i got the xbox 360. Ive had a few goes on PGR3 and it looks an awsome game!
But for me it would be G.R.A.W. would be my first pick of the 2 games!
But theyre not even the same thing though are they?!
If you said COD2 or G.R.A.W. then you may be able to choose one? if that makes sense?
 
If you haven't played it on any other formats then I'd go for Burnout: Revenge.

Also if funds are tight i'd buy a copy of Condemned second hand, play throught it which doesn't take very long then sell it on again. You should lose no more than a couple of quid and it really is a very gripping game. I wouldn't have it as my one and only game though.

PGR3 for me is the daddy of proper racers but for me at least the online side of things is slightly compromised. Personally I'm over cautious when playing online and go into corners half heartedly because i'm worried about taking people out, others are the opposite and like to play bumper cars.

Games I would avoid for a first and only game would be Kameo, King Kong, RR6, DOA4 and as I said before Condemned.
 
I'd pick PGR3 as a great introduction to the 360, class racer, can't go wrong.

I've seen it recently in the members market here for less than £30, bargain.

Took me 4 weeks to complete it on silver, enjoyed every minute of it.

You cant access it yet, you need more posts. Its in the forum FAQ the details.. but be careful, its fraught with rules and regulations.. ive been here some time and still dont dare enter..

and make sure you don't say someones asking price is a bit high, i got a permanant ban from there for it :o

Thanks for your replies guys, i think i'll go with GRAWF and get PGR3 second hand as it will be cheaper that way :)

I love racing games but GRAWF looks amazing

P.s. really cant wait for Tomb Raider, Lara in high def has to be a good thing lol
 
got paid today, toying with the idea of getting GRAW on my way home. I think it looks fantastic and love these type of games on the PC but PDZ has really put me off getting a shooter on the 360

Give other games a try, PDZ was really badly set up for some reason.

Stuff like GRAW, COD2 etc. is much nicer to play.

wait for tomb raider and Top Spin Tennis 2 ;)
 
i personally dont think tomb raider looks that good. havent seen top spin 2 either, allthough virtua tennis was one of my fave games of all time.

just need something to fill the time before my 2 pre orders come out ( motogp 2006 and gears of war ) dont fancy oblivion either after playing it for a bit on the PC. just not my kind of game.

sod it GRAW it is. think i will be going home via tesco tonight :)
 
hhmm, you might not like graw. IMO the controls of graw are very similar to PDZ. I loved COD2 controls but hated PD0. I find GRAW gets away with difficult controls because you have much longer to aim and snype so quick reactions dont really come into it as much, but it certainly doesnt have that direct feel that COD2 has. I'm really hoping that BF2:MC copies the control from the original xbox - that worked really well - again, very direct.

Worst thing about graw, unless I'm missing some obvious menu, is the inability to change any control sensitivity.

lol, sorry!

It is a great game - I've completed it on normal and am replaying it through on hard - and a game has to be very good to make me do that! Its just a great game despite the controls rather than because of them.

To be fair they work ok (ish) in the single player game where its quite slow paced, but on multiplayer I find it very frustrating (coupled to a really badly designed lobby system). I just thought I'd better mention it to you as you're coming from the same place as me - ie you're used to PC shooters and find PD0 controls difficult. Have you tried COD2?
