Great games were are squeals?

X4 wont happen as i know a person working at egosoft and he is already working on their new game which isnt an x game it is space game afaik tho. Really lookin forward to somit new in space from them guys.

Id personally love to see homeworld 3 and to be far better with being modable like homeworld 1 was instead of crapy mod complications with hw2.
 
Sometimes it's better if a game has no sequel.

Take Supreme Commander 2 for one example. I loved the 1st game and it's expansion pack then i go out and buy the 2nd game and low and behold it was a stinker :( they should never ever ever have changed the game mechanics to the point of dumbing it down so that the console fanbase can have it simplified.

And don't get me started on Thief 3 and the shambles that turned out to be :)

Agreed. would be great to see a homeworld 3 but it's doubtfull. same with System Shock 3. missed the 1st game, loved the 2nd and been waiting for a return ever since.

oh, and Freespace 3 would have been nice. they almost did a similar game with Babylon 5 - Into The Fire (or Combat Simulator) but it was cancelled :(

The graphics are failry dated now but heres a clip of it.

could have been good back in the day.

Aah, loved the first BG&E! Very fun, especially the sneaking into bases for pearls bits, but I never did get the hang of the minigame with the two balls.

Edit: In a way, I'm glad they didn't make another Freespace. I can't see how they could have made the story work, and that was one of the best things about the games - all the hell you went through fighting the Shivans in the first game, that wonderful feeling of achievement when you took out that Lucifer at the end, then having the rest of the fleet turn up looking for their scouting party - I can't tell you how crap I felt when those other Lucifer-class destroyers dropped out of subspace. A third Freespace ame wouldn't have been able to deliver that kind of involvement, I think.

not as unlikely as you think now that Relic have re-acquired the rights to the homeworld franchise.

Also, Thief 4 has been confirmed in development.
