Great images by this D700 user!

for the most part its pretty good comp. though is it flikr or are the images just not sharp in the slightest? (probs just the website)

a d700 is hardly a low end camera though, neither are the lenses hes using. Though he seems to be lacking anything lower than a 2.8 which does hurt some of the street shots imo (busy backgrounds)

I got to say I do like them myself, he's got a good eye and technically well processed and has that editorial flare when it comes to the fashion element.

No point in me putting d700 really just got carried away with myself, just searching for 105 mm vr and this guys images appeared which gave me inspiration as I was curious how sharp the 105mm is, but they all seem sharp though don't they!

Anyways great collection of images and photographer.

Maybe Op was searching for other D700 users to compare results. Op was obviously impressed with this tog knowing he's using the same body.

However you can also search T1i of 550D and find similar good results.

But really, what does it matter what he labels the thread?

My point was the old adage of people seeing good photos and saying:

"Great photos, you must have a really good camera, what is it?"

Rather than looking at the fact that it is the Photographer who makes the photo and the camera is just a tool. I'm sure this guy would produce something nice with whatever he was using.

It doesn't matter it was just confusing, normally these kinds of threads show how even with older equipment or entry level systems and even point and shoot cameras you can make stunning photos. To suggest a good photographer with a great camera can make great images didn't seem so profound to me.

If the OP just likes the togs work and wanted to share then that is fme but seems strange to mention the camera in the title.

I don't want to be a negative poster, but the one that stood out to me was the Street Beat one, because the bokeh looks awful. It's on a 80-200mm 2.8 by the looks of it. Just surprised that it looks as jarring as it does. Is that just me?

Also funny that the first comment is about how lush the bokeh is. Maybe it is just me! :o

The Bokeh in that shot is a little harsh with some outlining.

Most people have no clue what Bokeh actually is and think it is a synonym for shallow DoF, it is horrible when people are using cheap Canon 50mm f/1.8 "to get good Bokeh", it is god damned ugly out of focus rendering, not bokeh!

Yeh the bokeh is very nervous. Having said that, I don't mind a very subtle outline around the airy disc, as too buttery can just look like blur and can be hard on the eyes.

It has nothing to do with the D700 and everything to do with the photographer. If there is one thing everyone should know its that the camera is not responsible for great pictures. My BiL uses a D90 and creates amazing portraits. That down to shaping light and using correct exposure, being able to direct people to pose correctly..

Give a man a spanner, it doesn't make him a mechanic..but give a man a camera and he's a photographer...
