A bit more info will help here... Can you find out if it's really dual rails? Most PSUs advertise it as a feature, but it's desirable not to have dual rails.. and most dual rail PSUs are actually single rail.

Also the warranty PowerSwap thing is a good thing, however it'll depend on where it needs to be returned to.

If it's a single rail with 500W available to 12V and it's a UK returns destination then this will do for virtually any build.

I had an OCZ PSU a good few years ago as their Game X Stream series was one of only a few that worked well with the DFI Lanparty board I had, which made a strange large demand on the standby voltage rail... anyhow, it failed and a few rails all ended up over 1v down so had to make use of their power swap facility.

It had to go to The Netherlands. They recommended I use UPS, so I did, not knowing that UPS is the most goddamn expensive courier in the world (might or might not be true this, but they were fcuking expensive). It cost me ~£50 to send the psu to them, then they sent a replacement which was supposedly an upgrade (700w stealth x stream I think it was) which promptly went straight on ebay and made me £60. By the time I posted it off I was left with a couple of quid left over.

Power swap was a bit of a joke for me... maybe if I hadn't have used UPS.

I used an Antec after that, still going strong in my server PC with that board now, and the only reason I don't use my old Seasonic with my newer PC any longer is the 580GTX was too much to ask of a 600W psu so popped in a Corsair AX750. Won't be using OCZ again personally. I did have bad thoughts of Seasonic when it couldn't handle my DFI board, but since then it was flawless in a much more powerful system.

^ better buy another competitor's brand which are made in the same factory (apparently where the OCZs are made) here in Uk ? At least when something goes wrong, the rma is here?

Just a simple no nonsense, not particularly wonderful, basic efficiency power supply. A bit like the Corsair CX range where they use a cheaper OEM to get costs down for the masses of people who won't spend more than £40 on a PSU. We've all been there, haven't we?

Not really heard of Compucase-HEC though and my browser throws a fit when I try and load their webpage.

OCZ seem to be steadily building a reputation for mid- to high-end PSUs, I don't imagine they'd risk that by releasing a "box of death" however cheap it was.

I wouldn't want it in my gaming rig, but it looks OK for a HTPC/server/media center build, if it's not too noisy.
