I'm not sure what sort of reaction this will get but thought I might as well and try and help him out a bit.
My best mate Dai is running the Great North run this coming weekend and he's raising money for the National Deaf Childrens Society, being a Deaf fella himself it's a cause he believes in passionately , here's some of their blurb.
"NDCS is the national charity dedicated to creating a world without barriers for deaf children and young people. We represent the interests and campaign for the rights of all deaf children and young people from birth to independence. NDCS believes that the family is the most important influence on a deaf child's development. NDCS supports the deaf child through the family as well as directly supporting deaf children and young people themselves."
Dai was relatively lucky growing up as he had all the necessary support from family and friends, he's now completed his second masters degree and about to move on to a Phd. Not all deaf kids are this lucky and struggle from an early age with education etc.
Hopefully one day with more support from charities like the NDCS more of these kids can have the same amount of support towards their development.
