Got punched by a chav on the way home from after work drinks for "pushing past".

Walking down the main road on my 3 minute journey from the train station to home, approching the crossing and walking past a group of 3 chav's about 18-19 years old. Minding my own business listening to my music I simply walk past as the guy sticks out his shoulder and tries to impress his mates by nudging me.

I thought nothing of it and carried on walking over the road and on my way. A few seconds later and I notice somebody out of the corner of my eye so I take out my ear phones and one of the lads is giving me grief about apparantly pushing past him. I am not the biggest of lads, 5' 9" and about 12.5 stone but I give him some abuse back. Perhaps not the best idea in hindsight but I wasn't in the mood for this little scrote to be giving me crap over something I didn't do.

So his mate, a seemingly decent guy stood between us and told me to walk away and his mate was a male sex organ and just wanted trouble. I was about to comply when boom Mr 10 men throws one at me. I have no idea why but I threw one back and we traded a few blows. At this point the decent fellow jumps in again to pull Mr 10 men away, as some other little brat comes up and starts giving the mouth so I gave him a shuv and he did a runner.

I carried on walking thinking no more of it when Mr 10 men catches me up and hits me again so I hit him back and started to go after him and he did a runner as well.

I really can't understand why these low lives walk around looking for trouble, I'm not one for fighting and I've never had a fight outside of the school playground in my life before today and I left school 7 years ago. Kind of a good job one of the chavs had half a brain and tried to calm Mr 10 men down or I could have ended up with more than just a black eye this christmas.

I'm going to look great in the photographs :o

If you had ignored and walked/ran away then you might have saved yourself some grief.

In these situations there's no such thing as 'losing face'; at least you're home safe now and can enjoy your Christmas :)

Sorry to hear that. Good on you for sorting it out. Is it big where you live? Will you see the guy/guys again?

Not really, I'm unlikely to see them again and I don't think I'd recognise them if I did, nor them me as I haven't shaved in over a week and look totally different clean shaven :p

Perhaps but I could have been punched in the back of the head and that would have been much worse.

Glad to be home now indeed.

i don't understand some people, they obviously have so little to look forward to that they make entertainment any way they can. had a kid act like a prat toward me the other day, he's lucky i'm not a nutter or he could have been spending time in hospital, they just don't think anything can touch them!

What I did find funny afterwards was as I was walking away properly the "decent" fellow shouted "You got some balls man" which kind of cheered me up. I guess these failures aren't used to people standing up to them.

I'd have agreed with Jingo as you don't know what people are carrying these days & it could have ended up much worse. However it didn't & you can at least hold your head up high with a face which can portray war wounds this xmas ;) Good on you.

some good people just get stuck in the wrong crowd, few and far between though.

That's exactly it...they aren't.

They pick on the weak to boost their own meaningless existences. Those who appear meek and keeping to themselves are prime targets. You gave it back, hard, which knocks them right out of key.

Good on you for not trying to be civil, tbh. They don't deserve it. And don't let it ruin your Christmas.

It won't ruin my Christmas, just not a great start :p

Most people have said well done for standing up the them.... apart from the mother who says the swollen eye makes me look like Elephant Man lol. Thanks mum.

expect a visit from the police after his social worker files a complaint.
