Just got a call from the new job, might have to go to Dubai for 24hrs. Leaving on Friday afternoon.


What's Dubai like, i.e. anything I should watch out for or be mindful of?

As far as I know, you won't find alcohol in shops like over here, but every hotel has a bar which serves the stuff.

OP, do you mind me asking what you do?

Got a new job making large scale model cars and motor-sport related i.e F1, Le Mans prototype parts. Some of the model cars can cost around £15k.

Normally a trip to Dubai would never happen however the boss is in Italy, two others are in China and the guy I'm training with, well I'm not sure if he's able to go or not yet.

This will make you laugh though. The reason is that some hotshot over there has managed to break one of his model cars, is having people round in a few days to show off and want's it fixed. He's paying for all expenses lol. Mad...
