Greatest FPS and why?

counterstrike - i was at uni in 2001 in halls with lan - someone set up a dedicated server and i dread to think how many hundreds of hours were spent playing it. Happy times... It was nice playing only against other uni members as we all knew eachother, none of the annoying cr*p that comes with playing randoms online. Also, we were all fairly balanced when it came to skill, which made for some epic games.
 
Still playing Goldeneye, wishing it was an PSN/xbox arcade update, played all the greats, doom, duke, quake, unreal, wolfenstein, cod, BF and yet i still play 007, thank god for emulators, i still own the game on N64.
Trying to the get all the cheats was a game in itself, all the timed runs felt right, you done them, you felt you done the mission as it was meant to be done. Surely the goal of every game yes??

The only downside ( a biggie for some ) was the intro of auto aim on consoles. I always switched it off myself, the PC gamer breaking out so to speak.

My favourite game for one player is a tie between final fantasy 7 and uncharted 2 (dont know why they are both consol games) multiplayer for me has to be deltaforce 2 as its was this game that got me hooked on multiplayer shooters!

and tribes 2 was 100x beter. maybe some day we'll get proper devs that want to make games not not just make money.

BAD server was one skilled place to be. nice people too.

edit even if they did walk like ducks sometimes:P
