Hello there, I came to you guys when I first got my PC and had a problem and you were super helpful so here I am again

I'm new to PC gaming so if I have to ask a few questions when or if you're kind enough to help me out I do apologise haha!

I purchased my PC around a month ago and other than a minor problem it's been perfect so far. I recently picked up Dead Island and what with the bugs I presumed this problem was just isolated to that game in particular, but instead it's doing it with most games. The problem I'm having is that whilst playing games after about 5 minutes my PC freezes with a green colour to the screen, The sound then turns into a buzzing/static kind of noise and I'm unable to do anything but manually restart the PC it's self. Here's a picture to give you an idea of what I'm talking about: http://tinypic.com/r/2rfvn5t/7

I have all my drivers up to date and I also did a clean install of Windows 7 today but again, Still freezing. It's really getting to me that I just can't fix it!

The specs of my PC are:
I7 2600k
8GB of ram
Radeon 6970
TX750
Windows 7 64 bit

Whilst trying to research the problem I noticed many people suggested the temperature but I sit on just under 60 whilst dead island plays so I don't see a problem there? Sorry for the huge post but maybe someone could help me out here? :) -Laura

You may want to google "Green Screen of Death" and see if anything comes up. It sounds like a driver issue or a hardware issue.

Have you checked your windows logs?

I have done and those seem to be different to what I have?

Yes, Checked those and nothing has shown up.

Sorry, just shooting in the dark here:

- Does it happen on benchmarking programs as well e.g. 3D Mark or the Haven Benchmark?

- Have you tried a completely clean install of the drivers using a program like [Guru 3D] Driver Sweeper?

No worries thanks for trying to help me! :)

I downloaded Heaven Benchmark and I had no problems in that at all. I've also tried Driver sweeper.

It looks a lot like the grey screen of death which affected a lot of 5xxx series of cards, perhaps they changed the colour?

Try Googling ATI grey screen of death, I'm not sure if they ever solved it I think most people just got fed up and RMA'd their cards in the end, there was an epic thread on the AMD forums if you can find it.

I think you've hit the nail on the head. At least now I can go back to the company I got my PC from and tell them exactly what I think I have then they'll take it more serious than just putting it down to software. I have 3 years warranty but I think they were reluctant at first to accept a fault lol.
